Enrichment travel

Alumni and their guests have the opportunity to travel domestically and internationally with the School’s writing enrichment trips. Unlike residencies, which require lots of classroom time, these trips are all about getting out and exploring our destination! We’ll read a book in common and do some writing together, but mostly, we’ll be out and about, visiting cultural and historic sites, sampling the cuisine, and enjoying new experiences in the company of like-minded travelers.

Enrichment trips usually take place during the shoulder season to take advantage of milder temperatures and fewer crowds. Trips are usually a week long, and many alums choose to extend their vacations before or afterward. Watch your email and News from Home for information, or email Katy with questions.

In September 2025, we’re heading to Vietnam! We’ll spend time in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, with side trips to the Mekong Delta and a two-night cruise on Ha Long Bay. Registration runs January 27 – March 17, but you can contact Katy even after the deadline to see if there’s still space available. The trip runs Sept. 19-28 and is limited to 34 travelers.
