Alumni Opportunities: A 2025 Calendar

Weekly virtual “Write with Me” sessions:

• Sundays, 6 – 9 p.m. ET / 3 – 6 p.m. PT, hosted by Chella Courington
• Tuesdays, 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT (30-60 minutes), hosted by Diana McQuady (F ’14)
• Fridays, 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT (about 75 minutes), hosted by Terry Price (F ’06)

Monthly Alumni Gatherings, held virtually:

• First Monday: Submit Your Work: hosted by Noelle Sciulli (F ’20). All genres welcome! First Monday of the month, 7:30 PM ET / 4:30 PT.

January

• Online alumni writing workshops relaunch in January!
• Course registration opens for Spring and Summer semesters. (Spring residency takes place in Louisville; summer residency is held virtually.)
• Jan. 6: First Monday: Submit Your Work (see Monthly Sessions, above)
• Jan. 11: Notification of acceptance for March 2025 Business of Writing proposals
• Jan. 13: Applications open for Alumni Celebration of New Works
• Jan. 27: Travel registration window opens for Vietnam enrichment trip, Sept. 19-28

February

• Feb. 1: PGRA application deadline for Spring on-campus residency
• Feb. 1: Life of a Writer deadline. Submit your news here, or email mfanewsletter [at] spalding [dot] edu
• Feb. 3: First Monday: Submit Your Work (see Monthly Sessions, above)
• Feb. 18: Deadline to submit a proposal to serve as Distinguished MFA Alumni Lecturer at Spring residency (genre: writing for children and young adults)

March

• Registration opens for Class Reunions: Classes of 2005 and 2015
• March 1: Registration deadline for Post-master’s Certificate in Writing Enrichment for Spring or Summer semesters
• March 1: Application deadline for Alumni Celebration of New Works
• March 3: First Monday: Submit Your Work (see Monthly Sessions, above)
• March 7: Deadline to register to attend virtual Business of Writing Seminars
• March 8: Virtual Business of Writing Seminars take place
• March 17: Last day to register for Vietnam enrichment trip
• March 26-29: AWP in Los Angeles!
• March 27: Spalding’s AWP gathering

April

• April 1: Deadline to apply to be a PGRA for virtual residency, June 21-28
• April 7: First Monday: Submit Your Work (see Monthly Sessions, above)
• April 12: Deadline to register for Writing at the Brown writing retreat, May 24-30
• April 21: Deadline to sign up to participate fully in virtual residency, June 21-28
• April 30: Proposal deadline for Business of Writing Seminars in September
