SpaldingCon is a professional development opportunity offered at every Fall residency. Alumni join faculty-led workshops, either in Louisville or online, for an intensive three-day study. It’s a chance to work again with a favorite member of the Spalding MFA faculty—or to study with an instructor you didn’t get the chance to work with but wish you had.
No matter your area of concentration during your studies, you can take a SpaldingCon workshop in any area. Most workshops are generative, so there’s no workshop submission due, though faculty leaders may assign pre-reading.
Outside of workshop hours, additional curriculum sessions offer yet more enrichment—or you can use the time to write, rest, or socialize. Registration deadline is usually in September, but workshops fill quickly. Watch your email and social media for information on SpaldingCon workshops from School of Writing administrative director Karen Mann in Summer.
